Mickey La Fave

Mickey grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan.  Inspired by local artist and mentor John Gustafson; her love and passion for all things beautiful and artistic led her Central Michigan University to study art.  Not unlike so many aspiring artists, the necessity of a steady paycheck redirected Mickey's career....temporarily.

A move to Colorado in 1982 was a dream come true with Mickey eventually settling into a historic home in the Highlands neighborhood of North Denver.  Re-discovery for her passion for painting inspired Mickey to begin studying and painting with watercolorist Janet Nunn

Mickey's unique style playfully employs the use of  vivid colors and stark contrasts to accentuate subjects with incredible warmth, depth and detail.
